Practitioner Program
After attending an Introductory Workshop or a Zen Retreat Day, the next step is the Practitioner Program.
- The Practitioner Program at ZCOC provides for 10 to 12 programs per month of seated meditation, talks, readings, discussions, work practice, individual instruction, service projects, book club, and socials. ZCOC offers programs on Engaged Buddhism and Zen-related Films.
- The Center also provides special programs, workshops, formal tea ceremony, Summer Book Study, and a Zen Fiction Book Club, ZCOC offers regular opportunities for intensive practice: Zazenkai (one day retreats) and Sesshin (longer retreats).
- You will receive a monthly e-newsletter with detailed schedule of programs every month.
- For the weekly schedule, click here.
- Those who practice at the Center may come to all or as many of the programs as they wish. In order to develop a Zen practice and to build community, we recommend that practitioners attend at least twice a month, including one work practice and individual instruction. We ask you to read the monthly e-newsletter to stay up to date.
- Fees paid by those who practice at the Center are the primary means of financial support for ZCOC and are fully tax deductible. Fees are $70.00 per month.
- You will receive a password for the practitioner website.
